National Boating Week

National Safe Boating Week (NSBW) starts this weekend. The US Coast Guard Auxiliary is emphasizing life vest usage this week. Their slogan - "Be a Survivor - Wear It!"

I can attest to wearing it. My fishing partner found himself in the water this past week while trying to fix a broken trolling motor. One second he was there - the next he was in the water! He had his CO2 suspender vest on and it inflated almost immediately. He commented to me that he could not have gotten back on board his boat if he had not worn his vest.

My advice - and something I always do - WEAR IT!
