Helping a Youngster Learn to Fish

I took my grandson James fishing recently, something I do quite often, and something I really enjoy. He has become quite an angler, and at nine years of age he is able to handle spinning and bait casting equipment, casting either type with considerable accuracy. He plays the fish and knows when to stop reeling and let the rod fight the fish for him. Most kids his age tend to reel a fish right to the end of the rod. He didn't get this way by accident.
