Ron's Saltwater Fishing BlogSnapper in the Turtle Grass Back went the rod as Jim set the hook. Zing went the drag as a very nice mangrove snapper ran forty yards of line off the reel. Then it was a standstill. The fish had driven down deep in the turtle grass and sea weeds trying to hide. Jim's doubled over rod would not move, and as the boat continued to drift farther from the fish the drag on his reel grudgingly gave up small spurts of line.
