Watch the Tides!

Thursday May 15, 2008
Photo © Ron BrooksEvery time I head out from a ramp, I look at the tide situation and I tell myself – I need to do a piece on watching the tides.

This time I’m not talking necessarily about fishing, rather about safe boating. I took a picture as I headed out on the last trip, of the channel entrance and the local marker that shows the way. Later that afternoon when I came back in I took another picture – this one at low tide – to try and show you where boaters can make some very big mistakes.

You don’t want to drive your boat where it is too shallow.
