The sun was just beginning to break the horizon as we left the ramp. Ripples from the light southeast wind played with the rays of light and caused a shimmer on the water directly in front of us. Running on our heading was easy. The GPS numbers we had dialed in were directly in the middle of the orange ball now making it’s way above the line between a dark blue sea and a hazy gray sky.
