Staying Home Catches More Fish
Wednesday August 20, 2008
We were fishing Blue Bank in Florida Bay, about fifteen miles south of Flamingo. Trout were working the bank, and we were catching them on live shrimp under a popping cork on an outgoing tide. There were two other boats on the bank with us, one from Islamorada and one more that followed us down from Flamingo. Did we need to run that far?

Six miles out of my dock on June nights I can land 300lbs of grey (mangrove) snapper every night for three weeks.
Marathon fl, Keys .
You must be in the June spawn. Night fishing on the Keys has always been awesome - still is! Some of the biggest mangrove snapper I have ever caught were caught at night - 14lbs! - off Miami, looking at the nighttime skyline
