Southern Atlantic Grouper Anglers Get a Reprieve of Sorts
Reports are coming out from several sources that many states did not bother to comment or react when the SAFMC asked them to go along with the federal limits in state waters. That would mean that the state limits and federal limits would be in conflict.
This most certainly delays implantation of the new limits for a minimum of three months and perhaps for all of 2009.
But, make no mistake – the limits are coming, and they will be severe when they are finally put in place.
Up and down the Atlantic coast, commercial license renewals for grouper and snapper fishing have dropped dramatically and charter boats are reporting a huge drop in reservations because of the pending regulations.

Where can I by a Jetty anchor????
Most tackle shops that are in the vicinity of any jetties sell them. West Marine sells two sizes - made of stainless steel and bendable aluminum - they are a bit pricey but they will never rust. If you get one from them, you will have to modify it - and I can show you how - to insure you won;t loose it on the jetties. They are relatively easy to make out of two feet of two inch iron pipe and some rebar. Of course you will need a welder. I can show you that as well.
…well, that’s certainly topical to the article.
