PETA Changes Fish to Kittens

Thursday January 15, 2009
In an effort to get kids afraid to catch fish, PETA is now calling fish "sea kittens".

"You wouldn't put a hook in the mouth of a kitten, would you," says the rhetoric on PETA's website. They want kids to imagine their pet kitten or dog being drug around with a hook in their mouth. It's all part of PETA's "Stop Fishing" campaign.

Kids in Alaska where the publicity effort is underway generally say - fish are not kittens. Fish are our livelihood.

Looks to me like PETA took on the wrong crowd in Alaska!

PETA,,,, when are they truly going to learn that the general public,,(well in aus, anyway) have had a gutfull,,,,, how about they clean up there own backyard first and clean out all the crap that they don’t make public but is avail for all to research via the net,,,, the amount of dollars that gets injected into this group could really be put to better use elsewhere

That US Air plane that went down in NY with 155 aboard. Thankfully all survived. It was reported that a flock of birds may have taken out the engines. Wonder if PETA will want to stop air travel now because those birds were killed…

Take a kid fishing, you might be saving fishing for the future of all of us.

Fishermen need to wake up and get in the dialogue or one day we are going to find fishing illegal. Already there are more and more places where you can’t fish (sanctuaries). It comes down to getting the next generation hooked on fishing or else the next generation will outlaw it.

problem with taking a kid fishing is simply that the amount of marine parks that are common place now makes it difficult,,, especially with the overcrowding of areas that are open,,,,, marine parks certainly allow species of fish that are territorial to prosper,,, but the bread and butter species pass through them like a dose of salts,,,and the experts claim this is sustaining the overall population of fish,,,,, there must be a website were i can print one of those certificates,,,, i’d use it to apply for a job at PETA as well,,,, why have one idiot only doing one job,,,,

PETA is after fishing now…but lets take their arguement to its logical conclusion. No more roach motels…no spraying for bugs..and insects take over and rule.

Personally, I prefer higher life forms when given a choice… Fish over insects… dogs over rats… people over…well..ok not all people..
