Save a Fish to Catch a Fish

Wednesday November 11, 2009

Fish conservation and saving the resources is at once both emotional and radical in some circles. Marine Protection Areas - No Fish Zones - are popping up along the coast line in many areas. Are they right? Is the science behind them flawed?

Here is my original take on at least a part of the issue. A follow-up from a Biologist comes up next.

My complant on this issue is those restriction aren’t being places or enforced on The commercial boys . I say skippers pull up Black sea bass in California and kill them with a bat and dump them over board . I’ve seen fishing areas closed , pier’s , beaches , and beach fronts in front of hotel’s . Some of the piers and beaches were closed be cause they didn’t want to patrol them or chase the druggies off them . Some of them were made private for the use of hotels guest only even below the federal recognized tide line . Disabled aren’t allowed to use any motorized electric or gas operated to get to beaches or to surf fish on most states . Bait restrictions , Shark fishing , size restrictions , and many more restrictions . Fishing regulations in many states and local restrictions you need a lawyer to understand them . Face it we need fishermen righting the laws . We don’t need Peta pushing no fishing and no hooks that hurt the fish . The system is falling apart and fishing is suffering along with the rest of it .

something has to be done! starting with a saltwater license. the money could go toward law enforcement. the rat law that new hampshire has or had could help turn in people that choose to exceed there limit or keep under sized fish. tackle should be taken plus a fine. the mid water troll and the draggers should go the way of the covered wagons. these guys should be subsidies.
