I tend to avoid fishing on the weekends. I know, how could I do that right? Well, I don't work a weekday job, so I am able to fish during the week! My dad used to say - after he retired - that he would never fish on the weekend again "with all those amateurs". After I retired from my weekday job, I understood what he meant! The boat ramp is never crowded and the water is open for me to fish without interference during the week.
My son and grandson have my boat offshore this morning looking for some grouper. I drove by the boat ramp just now , and trailers are parked everywhere - the parking lot is full and they are parking out along the edge of the road. Some of them will be ticketed for actually being in the road. It happens every nice weekend. I smiled and kept driving. My trailer? It's at the front of the parking lot. My son tries to be the first at the ramp at 3AM for the long run!!
