Ultralights are usually reels that handle six pound test line or less. Some reels are actually designed for 2 pound test line. Prices vary for these little guys, as does quality and saltwater resistance.
This reel is the smallest of the midrange of Shimano's spinning reels. It has four ball bearings and Shimano's Super Stopper II anti-reverse rollers and interchangeable left or right hand retrieves, a standard Shimano feature. And now with Anti-rust Bearings (ARB) that last 10 times longer than regular bearings.
Ultra-smooth 11-bearing system! Penn engineers combined Penn's legendary toughness with a high bearing count to produce this quiet-running, comfortable-to-handle reel. A great value, with a long list of features that includes infinite anti-reverse, a high-speed perforated aluminum spool, balanced rotor for true wobble-free retrieves, and a one-touch folding handle. 10 ball bearings plus 1 roller bearing.
This is Bass Pro's premier spinning reel. In my experience, it is as good as reels three times the price. Inside, the mainshaft is pure stainless steel, the pinion gear is hardened brass, and it is built with 10 stainless steel bearings. It also has instant anti-reverse for good hook sets. This is a fine reel.
