By , About.com Guide

Definition: A lead sinker in the shape on an inverted pyramid. A brass or other metal eye is located on the bottom of the base of the pyramid for attaching a line. Offered in weights from 1 to 12 ounces, these sinkers are used primarily for surf fishing because they hole the bottom better than round sinkers.
