Spider Sinker

By Ron Brooks, About.com

Definition: A lead sinker used for surf fishing. This sinker has multiple heavy wire arms protruding from its side much like spider legs. These arms or legs are bent in a fashion that allows them to grab the bottom and hold steady in a current or surf condition. They work the best with a semi-hard, sandy bottom.
Also Known As: Surf Sinker
